Remember back in 2010 when a miraculous rescue plan was put into motion in the country of Chile?  They found after 17 days of searching and drilling, 33 men trapped, basically starving themselves on a teaspoon of tuna ½ cup of canned milk and a slice of peach every 2 days, who then survived underground 52 more days, until they were able to get a volunteer, Manuel Rodriguez down there to see the situation, and figure out how to get them out. And they did get them out after 69 days. Like those miners, when sin trapped us there would have been little hope for us. Fortunately, God had (and still does have) a rescue plan. Check it out:

Remember

So far we’ve discovered that God made the world good, and then we found out that something wasn’t right. We learned about an enemy who caused us to become trapped in sin and cut off from God. We’ve discovered we can’t get out of this trap without help; so God came up with a rescue plan: He sent down Jesus. His physical, see-able, touchable way of knowing who he was, and telling us what the rescue plan was and how it works.

Reflect

Sin causes us to be trapped.  Not able to rescue ourselves, and not able to get to God. That’s why He came to us. Just like in Chile when they sent a volunteer down, (that had a lot of risk involved,) God did the same thing. He sent a physical representation of Him, Jesus. To help you and I to get out of the trap, and to be able to get to God.

How does it make you feel?

Isn’t that amazing? God did the un-thinkable, to rescue the un-rescue-able. Not because he had to, but because he loves you and me that much. Can you imagine, a God like that?  Who wants us to be with him so much he’d risk doing what anyone else would have said was not possible
